October Play-by-Play
by Duane Barrett, Contest Coordinator
Overview
October
We would like to thank Rick Ellis and his partner Susan for stepping up taking over providing the BBQ lunches for us. Susan is doing above and beyond what we had asked for. Today was chili dogs and other snacks.. It was awesome!!
Weather
Weather guessers predicted 10% chance of rain, with a high of 64 degres. Turned out to be foggy on arrival at 8:00. The fog burned off before we started racing though. Partially sunny and it warmed up to about 60 is all. The wind was very light, so were able to do a north bound take off and immediate racing. This is the pilots' favorite take off.

Heat 3:
T-28 Wrap Up: All in all a good day there were a couple of cuts, didn't note who or when, but everyone had a good day.
Reno Class
Heat One:
There were six Reno pilots today. Rick came in first, Terry second, John third, Greg fourth, KC fifth, and Geo in sixth. There were cuts, but I didn't get who or when written down. Action was too fast to catch it allHeat Two:
Terry came in first, Rick second, John third, Greg fourth, Geo fifth, and KC sixth.Heat Three:
Terry first, Rick second, John third, Geeg fourth, Kc fifth, and Geo had a did not start. Just as he went to launch his plane spit the prop off, had we noticed in time we would have done a restart.Reno Wrap Up: Some fast laps, no crashes, and no warnings for safety line violations, but plenty of action on the course. There some cuts, but I didn't get who or when written down. We ran Reno without pylon judges today as a gentleman's race. Everyone was pretty spot on at making the pylons. And then, just like that racing was over for the season in a flash! See you all next April.
