May Play-by-Play
by Duane Barrett, Contest Coordinator
Overview
Competition Saturday in May was overcast with a wind out of the south. Only four of the
T-28 racers showed for racing, with one being new racer George. Interest in racing has really declined as of late. If you missed out on the May racing then be sure to turn out in June. With ony four racers we had just 1 section of 3 heats.
Reno had seven pilots show up today, but only five competed.
Weather
The weather was mostly overcast for the morning, with fairly good wind out of the south. With the wind out of the south we had to make south bound take offs and circle the south pylon before racing could begin.

T-28 Wrap Up: Well I think I can say we all had fun. No crashes this time although Duane did hit the north pylon during the last heat but was able to fly out of it even maintain second place. The pylon collapsed but was not damaged.
Reno Class
Reno class had seven pilots show up to fly today, but only five actually flew.
Heat One: Terry took first Greg was second, John C. third, Rick F. fourth and George fifthe. Rick made at least 4 cuts of the south pylon maybe 5, at least he was flying consistent even if it was consistently short!
Heat Two: Terry took first followed by Rick in second, he got his pylons sorted out. Greg was third, John C. fourth and george fifth.
Heat Three: Terry took first followed by Rick in second, John C. third, Greg fourth, and George fifth.
Reno Wrap Up: Wow these guys were fast and furious today. There were no crashes or incidents! George was a new comer to this event and he did well against the seasoned flyers,
