May Play-by-Play

      by Duane Barrett, Contest Coordinator

Overview
I arrived at the field about 8:00am to find a mild wind blowing and slightly cloudy. Weatherman predicted no chance of rain. We had an awesome turn out for today. By 10:00 AM, the clouds were gone and we had a sunny skybut the wind had picked up. In fact the wind was getting stronger, but blowing for an imediate racing start. Competition Saturday in May was an awesome day for all. Thank you to everyone who turned out to support us this year. We had about 28 people counting all the spectators and racers. Including 4 college guys visiting.

Weather
Sunny with about a 10 to 15 mph wind blowing the right way, so we took off for immediate racing action.

T-28 Wrap Up: Out of the fourteen (14) who signed up to race this year we had seven (9) show up today. Race coordinator choose not to fly today so we only had eight airplanes, two sections of four each. We flew today without pylon judges on the honor system and the CD's calls. Also No streamers as it was very windy. Back to having fun flying again. I believe that everyone had a good day today. Good turn out and thanks everyone for your support.

Reno Class

Heat One: John first, Rick  second, Terry third, and Geo fourth. There were only four flying Reno today.

Heat Two:  Terry first, Rick secnd, and Geo third. John was DQ'd for flying over the pilot stations. He blamed the wind, it had gotten pretty gusty by then.

Heat Three: Terry first, Rick secnd, John third, and Geo fourth.

Reno Wrap Up: With only four planes flying today things went pretty quickly. And, We flew Reno also without pylon judges on the honor system and the CD's calls. Also No streamers as it was very windy. Back to having fun flying again. But I'm sure everyone had a fun day, isn't that what it's all about anyway?  Thanks guys for coming out and joining the fun.
